Queensland - 1900 Patriotic Fund.
2d (1/-) on cover.

The lack of interest in the issue led to few covers being produced. These covers were all philatelic. No recorded cover can really be classified as being a genuine postal use of either Queensland Charity stamp.

2d stamps are rarer than 1d stamps on cover. Most of the recorded covers do, however, come in pairs of both stamps.

The covers shown here are for:

1. single franking together with a table summarising details of all recorded covers with a single franking of the 2d (1/-);
2. the recorded multiple franking covers;
3. combination franking of both the Queensland 1900 Charity stamps;
4. mixed frankings of both the Queensland 1900 Charity stamps with another issue.

Six covers are recorded with a single franking of the 2d (1/-):

1. 21 June 1900 cancelled at Brisbane for local delivery on a plain cover addressed to Mr. Gruber. Matthew Bennett February 2003 Lot 571.
2. 27 June 1900 cancelled at Brisbane for local delivery on a plain light grey cover addressed to Mr. Gruber.

   Stanley Gibbons April 2022 (in conjunction with a 6d cover).
3. 18 July 1900 cancelled at Warwick for local delivery on a plain cover addressed to Mr. L. N. Tweedie. Mossgreen June 2015, Lot 427.
4. 19 July 1900 cancelled at Brisbane at 3 pm (one line date) for delivery to Capt. R. S. Taylor at Eagle Stree Brisbane.
5. 25 September 1900 cancelled with QL in top left corner at Brisbane on a grey cover for local delivery to Mr. Gruber. Spink October 2012 Lot 1395.
